In an age where accessing accurate and sophisticated knowledge is increasingly difficult, we believe it is the responsibility of academia to make science accessible to curious minds of all ages and professions. Unlike the common practices in science communication, we strive to remain faithful to the core of scientific knowledge—preserving nuance and delivering theoretical insights in a way that is accessible without becoming overly technical. You can read our articles and even contribute your own to CogIST!
We aim to make cognitive science not only a field for experts, but also one that is accessible to and enriched by anyone with curiosity. With this vision, we carry out a wide range of open-access publication activities—from original essays and translations to interviews and video content—always with interdisciplinary rigor and care.
The Cognizer seeks to bring the editorial philosophy of CogIST—centered on content quality and clarity—to an international audience. Through contributions from cognitive scientists across the globe, and with no regard for academic status or institutional hierarchy, it aims to create an accessible and interdisciplinary space that fosters the international exchange of knowledge.
Kognitif VikiMaraton is a knowledge dissemination initiative aimed at expanding the reach of accurate, up-to-date, and accessible information on cognitive science. We revise existing cognitive science entries on Wikipedia, expand underdeveloped ones, and create new articles from scratch. It is a collective effort to make interdisciplinary concepts more visible and understandable in Turkish.
Mentalese Talks is CogIST’s podcast series where undergraduate and graduate students interested in cognitive science share their fields of study, curiosities, and questions in an open and conversational setting. In this series, where interdisciplinary thinking meets everyday academic life, topics such as mind, language, artificial intelligence, and consciousness are explored from the perspective of early-career researchers.
