Bir\u00e7ok ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131n\u0131n da vurgulad\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u00fczere, insan\u0131n bu biricik yetene\u011fine duydu\u011fu ilgi ve merak insanl\u0131\u011f\u0131n kendi tarihi kadar eskidir (Altmann, 2006; Garnham ve ark., 2006; Levelt, 2013). Psikolinguistik, bu alana \u00f6nc\u00fcl\u00fck eden Osgood ve Sebeok (1967) taraf\u0131ndan, linguistik ve psikoloji alanlar\u0131n\u0131n metodolojilerini insan diline ili\u015fkin daha b\u00fct\u00fcnsel bir anlay\u0131\u015fa eri\u015fmek amac\u0131yla harmanlayan disiplin olarak tan\u0131mlanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Bu metin, okuyucusuna psikolinguistik disiplininin erken d\u00f6nemlerindeki tarihsel ser\u00fcvenine ili\u015fkin genel bir \u00e7er\u00e7eve sunmay\u0131 hedeflemektedir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"2882\">\u0130nsan dilinin, bir ba\u015fka ifadeyle konu\u015fma yetene\u011finin M.\u00d6. 60.000 y\u0131l ve \u00f6ncesine uzanan bir ge\u00e7mi\u015fi oldu\u011fu elde edilen antropolojik kan\u0131tlar\u0131n \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131nda tahminlenmi\u015ftir, (Fisher &amp; Adams, 1994). \u0130nsan dilini konu alan \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n ve sorulan sorular\u0131n k\u00f6kenlerinin ise Antik \u00e7a\u011flara kadar uzand\u0131\u011f\u0131 bilinmektedir. Tarihteki ilk deney \u00f6rneklerinden biri olmas\u0131yla da \u00fcn kazanm\u0131\u015f olan, M\u0131s\u0131r firavunu Psammetichus\u2019un (M.\u00d6. 663\u2013610) en eski \u0131rk\u0131 tespit etmeyi ama\u00e7lam\u0131\u015f ikiz bebek deneyinin ve yine Antik d\u00f6nemde M\u0131s\u0131rl\u0131lar taraf\u0131ndan papiruslara rapor edilmi\u015f ilk afazinin bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalara dair \u00f6nemli kan\u0131tlar aras\u0131nda g\u00f6sterilmekte oldu\u011fu Altmann (2006) taraf\u0131ndan ifade edilmi\u015ftir. Ayr\u0131ca, \u00fcnl\u00fc filozof Platon\u2019un&nbsp;<em>\u0130dealar Teorisi<\/em>&nbsp;(M.\u00d6. 427\u2013347) de kavramlar \u00fczerine \u00f6nemli anekdotlar bar\u0131nd\u0131rmas\u0131 a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan daha sonra dil \u00fczerine geli\u015ftirilecek d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnce ve kuramlara o d\u00f6nemlerden itibaren zengin bir kaynak olu\u015fturmas\u0131yla dikkate de\u011ferdir (Akt. Garnham ve ark., 2006).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"a987\">\u0130lerleyen \u00e7a\u011flarda, dil, dilin yap\u0131s\u0131 ve i\u015flevleri linguistik ve psikoloji alanlar\u0131ndan \u00f6nce tarih sahnesinde yerini alm\u0131\u015f felsefe ile filozoflar taraf\u0131ndan ele al\u0131nmaya devam edilmi\u015ftir. Bu filozoflar aras\u0131nda, psikolojinin ayr\u0131 bir disiplin olarak do\u011fmas\u0131na da fikirleriyle katk\u0131da bulunmu\u015f Descartes, Spinoza, Locke, Hume ve di\u011fer \u0130ngiliz emprisistlerin yer ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 Garnham ve di\u011ferleri (2006) taraf\u0131ndan vurgulanmaya de\u011fer g\u00f6r\u00fclm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"5cc3\">19. y\u00fczy\u0131l\u0131n sonlar\u0131na do\u011fru, fizyolojik metotlar\u0131n insan zihnini anlamaya y\u00f6nelik \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalarda kullan\u0131labilece\u011fi fikriyle beraber Broca (1861) ve Wernicke\u2019nin (1874) afazi \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131 gibi \u00f6nc\u00fc klinik \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar da dil, d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnce ve beyin etkile\u015fiminin do\u011fas\u0131n\u0131 anlamaya y\u00f6nelik ad\u0131mlar\u0131n h\u0131zlanmas\u0131nda etkili olmu\u015ftur. Blumenthal\u2019\u0131n (1987) vurgulad\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u00fczere, o d\u00f6nemde y\u00fcz y\u0131l\u0131 a\u015fk\u0131n k\u00f6kl\u00fc bir disiplin olarak Almanya\u2019da varl\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 s\u00fcrd\u00fcren linguistik, eski Alman romantizmi gelene\u011fi ile y\u00fckselen emprisizm ve h\u0131zla geli\u015fen niceliksel metotlar\u0131n so\u011fuk sava\u015f\u0131na sahne olmu\u015ftur. Eski gelenek dil \u00fczerine yap\u0131lan \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n k\u00fclt\u00fcrel ba\u011flam vurgusu \u00fczerine in\u015fa edilmesinin gereklili\u011fini savunurken,&nbsp;<em>neogrammarian<\/em>lar olarak an\u0131lan bir grup gen\u00e7 linguist yenilik\u00e7i laboratuvar \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131n b\u00fcy\u00fcs\u00fcne kap\u0131larak eski yakla\u015f\u0131ma kar\u015f\u0131 \u00e7\u0131km\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"8fb5\">Bahsi ge\u00e7en yenilik\u00e7i laboratuvar \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131na imza atan en \u00f6nemli isimlerden birinin psikolojinin babas\u0131 olarak an\u0131lan Wundt oldu\u011funu tahmin etmek zor de\u011fildir. Wundt 1879 y\u0131l\u0131nda ilk psikoloji laboratuvar\u0131n\u0131 kurmu\u015f ve psikolojinin ayr\u0131 bir deneysel bilim olarak ba\u015flamas\u0131n\u0131 sa\u011flam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r (Schultz, &amp; Schultz, 2015). Wundt, psikolojinin ilk y\u0131llar\u0131ndan itibaren dil psikolojisi ile ilgilenmi\u015f ve dilin psikolojik bir fenomen oldu\u011fu tart\u0131\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131 yapan ilk bilim insan\u0131 olmu\u015ftur. Dil ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131nda temel olarak c\u00fcmle \u00fczerine yo\u011funla\u015f\u0131lmas\u0131 gerekti\u011fini \u00f6ne s\u00fcrm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr. 1900 y\u0131l\u0131nda yay\u0131mlad\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u201c<em>Die Sprache<\/em>\u201d adl\u0131 eserinde, dilin i\u00e7sel ve d\u0131\u015fsal olmak \u00fczere iki temel \u00f6gesi \u00fczerinde durmu\u015ftur. D\u0131\u015fsal \u00f6geyi bireyin \u00fcretti\u011fi ya da alg\u0131lad\u0131\u011f\u0131 ger\u00e7ek s\u00f6zel ifadeler olarak tan\u0131mlarken, i\u00e7sel \u00f6geyi bu iki eylemi ve dili anlamland\u0131rmay\u0131 olanakl\u0131 k\u0131lan zihinsel s\u00fcre\u00e7ler olarak tan\u0131mlam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r (Akt. Tanenhaus, 1989). \u00d6\u011frencilerine verdi\u011fi dil derslerinde, Bloomfield, Mead, Saussure ve Boas gibi \u00f6nemli ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131 ve d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcrlerin g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015flerine yer verdi\u011fi vurgulanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r (Blumental, 1987). \u00d6\u011frencilerinden K\u00fclpe, W\u00fcrzburg ekol\u00fcn\u00fc kurmu\u015ftur ve bu grubun i\u00e7erisinden \u00f6nemli psikolinguistler ve Gestalt psikologlar\u0131 ortaya \u00e7\u0131km\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. W\u00fcrzburg ekol\u00fcn\u00fc takip eden psikolinguistler i\u00e7e bak\u0131\u015f y\u00f6ntemini kullanmay\u0131 s\u00fcrd\u00fcrm\u00fc\u015flerdir (Schultz &amp; Schultz, 2015).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"e2e7\">Birinci D\u00fcnya Sava\u015f\u0131 Avrupa\u2019daki bilimlerin geli\u015fimini sekteye u\u011fratm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. 20. y\u00fczy\u0131l\u0131n ba\u015flar\u0131nda, yap\u0131salc\u0131l\u0131k ve kulland\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7ebak\u0131\u015f metodu ele\u015ftirilmeye ba\u015flanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Psikoloji alan\u0131nda ya\u015fanan bu paradigma tart\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131 yak\u0131ndan takip eden linguistler, Wundt\u2019un laboratuvar \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131 ile filizlenen psikoloji-linguistik ili\u015fkisini sorgulamaya ba\u015flam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Delbr\u00fcck (1901) linguistik alan\u0131n\u0131n psikolojinin y\u00f6ntemlerine ihtiya\u00e7 duymad\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 ve dilin soyut, formal bir kavram olarak incelenmesi gerekti\u011fini savunarak, alandaki ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131lar\u0131 dilin yap\u0131lar\u0131n\u0131 ve kod sistemleri aras\u0131ndaki ili\u015fkileri insan zihnini merce\u011fin d\u0131\u015f\u0131nda tutarak ele almaya davet etmi\u015ftir (Akt. Blumental, 1987). \u0130lk eserlerinde Wundt\u00e7u bir yakla\u015f\u0131m sergileyen Bloomfield ise 1933 y\u0131l\u0131nda yay\u0131mlad\u0131\u011f\u0131&nbsp;<em>Language<\/em>&nbsp;adl\u0131 eserinde psikolojideki davran\u0131\u015f\u00e7\u0131l\u0131k fikrini, taksonomik inceleme anlay\u0131\u015f\u0131yla birle\u015ftirmi\u015f ve dilde incelenmesi gereken temel \u00f6gelerin sesbirimler oldu\u011funu \u00f6ne s\u00fcrm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr (Akt. Altmann, 2006). Blumental\u2019\u0131n anlat\u0131m\u0131yla (1987), hocas\u0131 Esper ve J.R. Kantor, zihinsel s\u00fcre\u00e7lerin yeniden incelenmesi ve iki alan\u0131n y\u0131ld\u0131zlar\u0131n\u0131n bar\u0131\u015fmas\u0131 i\u00e7in b\u00fcy\u00fck bir \u00e7aba g\u00f6sterse de d\u00f6nemin zeitgeisti buna izin vermemi\u015ftir. Davran\u0131\u015f\u00e7\u0131 yakla\u015f\u0131m\u0131n hakim oldu\u011fu bu d\u00f6nemde, alg\u0131n\u0131n ay\u0131rt etmeye; belle\u011fin \u00f6\u011frenmeye; dilin s\u00f6zel davran\u0131\u015fa indirgendi\u011fini ifade eden Miller (2003), 1951 y\u0131l\u0131nda yay\u0131mlad\u0131\u011f\u0131&nbsp;<em>Language and Communication<\/em>&nbsp;adl\u0131 eserinde fanatik bir davran\u0131\u015f\u00e7\u0131 olmaktan ka\u00e7\u0131nd\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 y\u0131llar sonra kaleme ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 makalede vurgulam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. B.F. Bu eserde dil kazan\u0131m\u0131n\u0131 temel \u00f6\u011frenme prensipleri ile a\u00e7\u0131klamaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015fm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"e8fb\">Takvim yapraklar\u0131 1959\u2019u g\u00f6sterdi\u011finde Chomsky, daha sonraki y\u0131llarda devrim olarak adland\u0131r\u0131lacak darbesiyle psikolinguistik tarihindeki yerini alm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Her ne kadar daha \u00f6nce&nbsp;<em>Syntactic Structures<\/em>&nbsp;(1957) adl\u0131 eserini yay\u0131mlam\u0131\u015f olsa da as\u0131l \u00fcn\u00fcn\u00fc Skinner\u2019\u0131n&nbsp;<em>Verbal Behavior<\/em>&nbsp;adl\u0131 eseri \u00fczerine yazd\u0131\u011f\u0131 ele\u015ftiriden sonra kazanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Chomsky, dilin&nbsp;<em>sistematikli\u011fini<\/em>&nbsp;ve&nbsp;<em>s\u0131n\u0131rs\u0131z yarat\u0131c\u0131l\u0131k potansiyelini<\/em>&nbsp;indirgemeci, \u00e7a\u011fr\u0131\u015f\u0131msal bir yakla\u015f\u0131mla ele alan davran\u0131\u015f\u00e7\u0131l\u0131\u011fa kar\u015f\u0131 \u00e7\u0131km\u0131\u015ft\u0131r (Chomsky, 2019). Tanenhaus (1989), Chomsky\u2019nin psikolinguistik alan\u0131n\u0131, dil incelemelerine zihinsel s\u00fcre\u00e7leri dahil ederek bili\u015fsel devrim ve bili\u015fsel biliminlerin geli\u015fimine bulundu\u011fu katk\u0131; dil kazan\u0131m\u0131n\u0131 mant\u0131ksal bir problem olarak ele alarak geli\u015fimsel psikolinguistik alan\u0131na yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 katk\u0131;&nbsp;<em>D\u00f6n\u00fc\u015f\u00fcmsel Gramer Teorisi<\/em>&nbsp;ile deneysel psikolinguistik alan\u0131na yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 katk\u0131 olmak \u00fczere \u00fc\u00e7 farkl\u0131 \u015fekilde etkiledi\u011fini ifade etmi\u015ftir. Ayr\u0131ca, Chomsky,&nbsp;<em>edin\u00e7 (competence)<\/em>&nbsp;ve&nbsp;<em>edimi (performance)<\/em>&nbsp;birbirinden ay\u0131rarak, psikolinguistik incelemelerin odak noktas\u0131n\u0131n dikkat ve bellek kapasitesinden y\u00fcksek derecede etkilenebilecek edim de\u011fil&nbsp;<em>edin\u00e7<\/em>&nbsp;olmas\u0131 gerekti\u011fini savunmu\u015ftur. Son olarak, dil geli\u015fimini&nbsp;<em>do\u011falc\u0131<\/em>&nbsp;bir perspektiften ele alarak dil yetisinin zihnin\/beynin genel mimarisinde oldu\u011funu ifade etmi\u015ftir. Chomsky\u2019nin yakla\u015f\u0131m\u0131, kendi ifadesiyle&nbsp;<em>kartezyen<\/em>&nbsp;felsefe yakla\u015f\u0131mlar\u0131ndan beslenmi\u015ftir, (Chomsky, 2019).&nbsp;<em>D\u00f6n\u00fc\u015f\u00fcmsel Gramer Teorisi<\/em>&nbsp;60 ve 70\u2019lerde devam ettirilen deneysel psikolinguistik \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131n \u00f6z\u00fcn\u00fc olu\u015fturmu\u015ftur (Tanenhaus, 1989).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"3ecb\">Kronolojik olarak ayn\u0131 d\u00f6nemlere denk gelen bili\u015fsel devrim, geli\u015ftirilen&nbsp;<em>bilgisayarlar<\/em>&nbsp;ve zihinsel s\u00fcre\u00e7lerin&nbsp;<em>bilgisayar metaforu<\/em>&nbsp;\u00fczerinden&nbsp;<em>ak\u0131\u015f \u015femalar\u0131<\/em>&nbsp;ile incelenmesi,&nbsp;<em>artificial intelligence<\/em>&nbsp;ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131 gibi geli\u015fmeler de hem bili\u015fsel bilimlerin hem de psikolinguisti\u011fin g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fczdeki durumuna gelmesinde etkili olan fakt\u00f6rler aras\u0131nda g\u00f6sterilebilir (Smith &amp; Kosslyn, 2017). D\u00f6nemin en reva\u00e7ta fikirleri aras\u0131nda Fodor\u2019un&nbsp;<em>Mod\u00fcler Zihin Hipotezi<\/em>&nbsp;(1983) yer almaktad\u0131r. \u0130lerleyen y\u0131llarda, Rumelheart ve Mcclelland\u2019\u0131n (1986) zihnin paralel i\u015flemleme yapabildi\u011fini i\u015faret eden bulgular\u0131,&nbsp;<em>bilgisayar metaforunun<\/em>&nbsp;yerini beyin metaforuna b\u0131rakmas\u0131na sebep olmu\u015ftur ve bili\u015fsel alandaki ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar beyin g\u00f6r\u00fcnt\u00fcleme teknikleri sayesinde niceliksel ve niteliksel alanda art\u0131\u015f g\u00f6stermi\u015ftir (Smith &amp; Kosslyn, 2017).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"6f6e\">20. y\u00fczy\u0131l\u0131n sonlar\u0131ndan bu yana psikolinguistik ser\u00fcvenine, bilgisayar bilimleri gibi alanlardan beslenerek son s\u00fcrat devam etmektedir. Wundt\u2019un ilk laboratuvar \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131ndan bu yana alan\u0131n merce\u011finde olan dil kazan\u0131m\u0131, dil d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnce etkile\u015fimi, i\u015faret dili, yabanc\u0131 dil kazan\u0131m\u0131, vb. gibi pek \u00e7ok soru \u00fczerinde ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131lar ke\u015fiflerini s\u00fcrd\u00fcrmektedir.
